Big Brothers Big Sisters Westman is guided by a volunteer Board of Directors: community members who set our overall direction, oversee the organization's finances, and ensure every decision keeps kids and mentors at the center of what we do.

The board does not manage day-to-day operations and programs; that responsibility belongs to staff. Instead, directors focus on the larger questions: Are we using our resources wisely? Are we planning for the future? Are we living up to our mission?

Directors serve a two-year term and may renew for one additional term before taking a well deserved break. The full board meets a minimum of six times per year, generally via Microsoft Teams, with occasional additional time required for committee work.

We look for directors who bring a mix of skills and perspective, finance, law, marketing, fundraising, or a strong tie to our community, and who can commit a few hours a month beyond board meetings. No nonprofit governance experience is required, only genuine interest in the work and the reliability to show up consistently.
